This initiative sets up a network of researchers studying trends and means of data-driven surveillance in various contexts. We aim to foster interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, generate project applications, and study the effects of surveillance and privacy technologies in the context of the University of Groningen, the city of Groningen, and the Northern region of the Netherlands. This includes technical, ethical, legal, and social dimensions of privacy and data protection, data autonomy in academic and public institutions, the impact of surveillance on digital literacy and personal development, and related themes.<br><br>
