My sense is that the ethnic and religious composition of the United States has been shifting due to immigration for basically our whole history. It’s admittedly a somewhat unusual aspect of US history compared to most countries.

Where the technology exists to decarbonize at reasonable cost (cleaner electricity, switching to electric cars) it is happening at a decent pace. We need more work on the fact that there are a bunch of sectors where the technology doesn’t currently exist.
