What I've recommended to communities that WANT THEM, is a secure standalone unit that literally cannot be accessed without a single-use decryption key supplied by a judge issuing a warrant when there is adequate context and evidence that you've committed a serious crime. If you don't want ANY surveillance, that's fine, and I personally agree with that. But we live in a democracy, not Bennjordistan. Most Americans think Flock and warrantless tracking is too much surveillance, and I do everything I can to educate my audience and lawmakers about the consequences (eg. Hawthorne Effect) and expenses of surveillance. I've also spent over a year studying the efficacy. So no, I'm not a shill. I just understand that the first step is to roll back warrantless tracking of innocent people.
