There's now a fairly good chance "Francine" will form in the Gulf of Mexico by the middle of next week. Heavy rain along the Gulf Coast, including Texas, is expected regardless of strength. We'll monitor. #wfaaweather

Almost all North Texas lakes are in the red, but most are still doing just fine for this point in the year. The recent rain was beneficial to western NTX lakes, which helped raise those levels in places. #wfaaweather

Should you cancel your outdoor Labor Day Plans? For most of North Texas, some passing rain is possible, but shouldn't be a washout. Having an indoor back-up plan is a good idea. The exception is western/southwestern areas where rain will be more steady and a higher coverage.
