Why are we so warm and dry? The storm track is staying well to our north and high pressure to the west is preventing any low-pressure systems from getting close to us. So we stay warm and dry with no major cool-downs or rain anytime soon. #wfaaweather

This October is running above normal and dry to start the month, but typically we start to see stronger cold fronts become more common and it can be rather rainy during the month as well. We also lose around an hour of daylight between now and the end of the month.

The odds have only gone up for a new tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico within the next 7 days. A forecast track, forecast intensity and those kinds of details will come with time. This is something we will monitor closely.
