RT by @WashInstitute: Important statement from the Board of Peace clarifies a key point that has often been misunderstood: the proposed decommissioning is not limited to Hamas's heavy weapons, but also includes the arms it has long used to intimidate fellow Gazans - and, of course, those used on October 7.
There is understandable skepticism that Hamas will actually disarm. But Israel has everything to gain if the process succeeds. The reflexively negative tone from Defense Minister Katz and others appears to dovetail with Likud primary politics - a dynamic that will be lost on almost all audiences abroad, and even on many Israelis outside the primary electorate.
Israel - along with the people of Gaza who have suffered under Hamas - stands to benefit most from a credible decommissioning process. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan: distrust, but verify. The real test is whether this path can be pursued and rigorously tested, rather than dismissed before it even begins.

RT by @WashInstitute: Breaking News: Plethora of early reports suggesting there has been a breakthrough with Hamas on decommissioning of weapons in Gaza. People have reason to withhold judgment until they know more and whether there is fine print, hidden linkages and verification issues. I should say that I was just in Cairo and there was a lot of optimism by people involved in the talks with Hamas that this was more possible than people think. Let’s wait to know more before saying Mabruk (Congrats). If true, obviously a world-class, massive achievement.

The last event we recorded in the Mediterranean involving an LNG tanker was the Russia-flagged LNG tanker Arctic Metagaz (IMO 9243148), which experienced an attack in the Mediterranean Sea off Malta in March 2026.
I created the video below to show you how to look for the Energos Winter, as well as the Arctic Metagaz for background.
