I wish Andy Burnham well on becoming leader of the British Labour Party and stand ready to work constructively with him.
A different approach is needed from the British Government.
Successive British governments have implemented policies that have been catastrophic for ordinary people.
They have cut vital public services, deepened inequalities, and left families struggling through a cost of living crisis while a small elite continues to accumulate enormous wealth.
I look forward to meeting with Andy Burnham when he takes up the role of British Prime Minister.
I will make the case for fair funding for public services, action on the cost of living crisis, and full respect for our democratic right to determine our own future here on the island of Ireland.
The interests of all the people of Ireland will be best served when we have full control of our own affairs in a new and united Ireland.

My heart is breaking as news continues to emerge of the horrific tragedy in Ballymena.
The victims and their loved ones are in all our thoughts at this incredibly sad time.
As a society, we must put our arms around those who are grieving and offer them our full support.

We can never accept burning effigies of political representatives, flags or symbols as normal.
In any other part of the world, this would be unfathomable and unacceptable. It should be no different here.
This is hatred, rooted in ugly sectarianism and racism.
Last night, effigies of political representatives, including myself, were placed on bonfires, surrounded by flags and emblems.
Those responsible have nothing to offer except fear and division.
But they will not succeed.
I will not let hatred dictate our future.
I will continue to build a future where all our children grow up free from hate.

🤍❤️ I was delighted to visit two fantastic Tyrone GAA clubs, Loughmacrory and Greencastle.
It was brilliant to see so many young people having a great time and being part of their local clubs.
It was especially uplifting to see the work being done by the clubs to make sure that every child feels included and welcomed.
Across Tyrone, Ulster and every part of Ireland, GAA is at the heart of our communities.
And I really cannot commend the volunteers, coaches, families, committee members and players enough for everything they do to make clubs such special places.
Go raibh maith agaibh! 👏🏻

🙌🏻 I was delighted to be in Derry to see the great progress being made at Meenan Square!
Once a derelict site, Meenan Square is being transformed into a first-class community resource, with new homes, businesses, and modern community facilities.
This is a significant investment in the Bogside, and I will continue working to deliver more opportunities for people and communities across Derry and the North West.

Creating more jobs and better opportunities for our people is a priority.
It was a pleasure to recently visit Fieldfisher's new Belfast offices as they announced the creation of new jobs, expanding their team to more than 300 staff.
This investment is a strong vote of confidence in the ability of our people, our local economy, and our island as a place to invest and grow.
I will continue working with local and international businesses to create new and exciting opportunities for our workers, families and communities.

The GAA is at the heart of our local communities, and I was absolutely delighted to join my own home club, Clonoe O’Rahilly’s, for their family day at the big marquee weekend.
Maith sibh to everyone involved for organising another fantastic weekend.
It was wonderful to see the community come together once again while raising funds to help the club continue its ambitious plans to develop even more first class facilities.
It was heartening to see a donation of ÂŁ10,000 to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
The incredible work they do in supporting families during the most difficult of times is truly invaluable, and this generous donation is a fitting reflection of the community spirit that lies at the very heart of the GAA.

Casement Park is an absolute priority, and it will be built.
Despite obstruction and delay, real progress has been made in recent months, with diggers and workers now on site as the redevelopment moves forward.
We must continue to build on that momentum.
This project will be a game-changer in creating jobs, driving investment, and delivering lasting benefits for communities across Belfast, Antrim, and Ulster.
I will continue working in partnership with the GAA every step of the way to deliver a top-class stadium that meets the needs of Gaels in Antrim and across Ulster.

RT by @moneillsf: Families and businesses in rural communities will no longer face massive bills when connecting a new build to the electricity grid or upgrading their connection.
This week, Sinn Féin Minister Caoimhe Archibald introduced a fairer system, ending the disproportionate costs that burdened rural communities for so long.
