We joined the Brown family and thousands of people from Bellaghy, the GAA community, and across society calling for a full public inquiry into the murder of Sean Brown. Twenty-eight years ago, Bridie Brown lost her loving husband, and her children lost their devoted father. They deserve truth and justice. The British government continues to deny the Brown family that right, refusing to accept the court’s ruling that a public inquiry must be established. Tonight, thousands stood together in Bellaghy with one clear message, we will all continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Bridie and her family.

The Childcare Subsidy Scheme will be extended to cover Primary School-aged children, cutting childcare costs by up to 15% for eligible families from September 1st. This is another positive step in the right direction, and I will keep working with all parties to make childcare more affordable and support our hard-working providers.

A fantastic day at the Strule Shared Education Campus as we cut sod on this transformative project for the lives of young people across the West of the Bann. This state-of-the-art campus will bring six schools together on one site, creating not just a world-class place to learn, but a space where new friendships and shared experiences can thrive. Signing off on funding to progress work was one of the first actions of this Executive, and I’m delighted to see great progress being made for 2028 opening! 👏🏻

🏍️ I was delighted to attend the North West 200 in Portrush yesterday, one of the most prestigious racing events in the world, attracting well over 150,000 fans from across Ireland and around the globe. It was great to meet some of the riders who put on a thrilling show, and to thank the dedicated team of organisers and volunteers who make it all happen every year. We need to keep working together to attract and host more world-class sporting events that drive economic growth, create better jobs, and showcase the very best of our people and our island.

Politics must always be about the future and making sure our children have the best opportunities in life. I was delighted to visit St. Patrick’s Primary School in Dungannon to help launch their fantastic new unit for children with additional needs. It was a real pleasure to also witness the incredible energy and talent of the young people, and to see how deeply committed the staff are to supporting every pupil. Ensuring that every child with additional needs has access to proper resources and facilities is a top priority for this Executive.
