We’ve pressed the British government to use the upcoming budget to provide increased support for families to help reduce childcare bills. The British government can and must invest taxpayer money back into supporting workers and families as living costs rise. Sinn Féin will continue to have the backs of all our people and communities.

I’m delighted to have registered as a mentor with SistersIN, a fantastic programme that supports and empowers hundreds of young women from across all schools. It was wonderful to meet my brilliant mentee, Clodagh. I’m looking forward to sharing what I’ve learned throughout my journey in life, and also learning from her. As First Minister, I’m determined to empower our young people to believe in themselves, chase their dreams, and become the leaders of tomorrow.

⭕️👏🏻 Lá stairiúil! History has been made as The Executive Office today appoints both the Irish Language Commissioner and the Ulster-Scots Commissioner. Tá an Ghaeilge ag dul ó neart go neart. Gaeilge is flourishing in communities across the North, and the new Commissioner will play a central role in creating better opportunities for the language. I look forward to working with the incoming Commissioners as we continue to build an inclusive and respectful future.

The excitement at the heart of local communities across the island in recent weeks has been truly special to witness and experience. Go raibh maith agaibh to the players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and fans. It is your dedication, passion, and contribution, in whatever form it takes, that make our games so special. The continued denial of justice for the Bloody Sunday families is deeply disappointing. Fifty three years ago, the British Army indiscriminately murdered civilians on the streets of Derry. Over fifteen years ago, the then British Prime Minister publicly acknowledged the role of British soldiers on Bloody Sunday. Yet, not one British soldier or their military and political superiors has ever been held to account. That is an affront to justice. I want to commend the courage and determination of the Bloody Sunday families. For more than five decades, they have campaigned with dignity and resilience for justice for their loved ones, their deeply cherished sons and fathers, uncles and brothers. I extend my full solidarity to the families and to the wider community of Derry who will be hurting today. I will continue to support you all in whatever steps you choose to take next in pursuit of justice.
