Blair arguing to Amol Rajan there is at least agreement re Israel-Palestine - a 2 state solution. “We managed to create a peace agreement [in Northern Ireland] where there was no agreement as to the ultimate outcome … we never resolved that issue”.

The contender leading after the first ballot has won twice in the last five Conservative leadership contests (May and Johnson) which have gone to a vote this century. Portillo, Davis and Sunak all led and lost.
