RT by @IrelandsFuture: Gilt market confirming concerns around UK ECONOMY, with interest costs for 10 year money now at 5%+ šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ As a comparison, most European Countries borrowing costs between 3-3.5% šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ŗ Ireland 10 year money currently 3.3% and seen as relatively low risk. šŸ‡®šŸ‡Ŗ Simply this means Ireland pays significantly less interest if it wants to borrow money from the Gilt market and invest it back into the economy. The Gilt Market is crucial as it finances government, sets borrowing costs, supports pensions and helps maintain economic stability across the UK. UK ECONOMY in the doldrums, with economic growth closer to zero. Clearly this has an impact in N Ireland, as the magic money tree in Westminster, is running out of magic money (Gilt Market). Double Whammy for UKGOV, and worse I would suggest for people across NI, as there will be no new money for public services (ie standard of living continues to regress). #Bust
