For millions of people in Afghanistan, climate change isn't a future threat, it's happening now. As communities faced unimaginable loss, @ARCSAfghanistan volunteers were on the ground, rescuing survivors, providing first aid, emergency shelter and food. Thanks to a CHF 1 million allocation from the @IFRC's Disaster Response Emergency Fund (@IFRC_DREF), nearly 40,000 people are receiving emergency cash assistance, healthcare, shelter and safe water as they begin to recover. But with climate shocks becoming more frequent and severe, emergency response alone is not enough. Investing in preparedness today will save lives tomorrow.

After travelling via Entebbe and continuing by road into the DRC, the vehicles are now ready to support vital response activities. Because getting help to the right place, at the right time, matters.

In Italy, thousands of older persons feel isolated and around 8 million people take on the role of family caregiver. Loneliness especially deepens in summer, when high temperatures and quieter cities make it worse. The Italian Red Cross Sorrisi @crocerossa project is responding across 17 local committees, combining group activities and socialization events with free psychological support and a dedicated helpline for older persons and caregivers alike. The project recognizes that caregivers need support too, not just the people they look after. Because no one should ever feel alone.
