Sony makes the majority of its money from micro transactions and third party sales from people being on the PS platform. (COD, Fortnite, Minecraft, soon to be GTA6 etc.) The PC sales for Sony games have dropped off a lot lately and PC gaming is taking away more PS players than it is gaining. So in terms of business, this move makes sense IMO. The console is the bread winner for Sony atm.

I am currently playing the Japanese version (cos it is a lot cheaper) and I can say there is quite a bit of gore censorship. Not only examples like this but there is no bodily dismemberment in any of the death scenes. Grace and Leon will get stabbed and sliced but no parts get cut off and they never get cut in half. Also in death scenes where your head gets bitten or ripped off the screen blacks out before showing it. It seems in gameplay zombies get ripped to pieces a lot less too.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released 2 years ago today! It was actually released on a leap year day of February 29, 2024. So this is the closest we can get to the 2 year anniversary. One of the best games of this generation and I canā€™t wait for Part 3!
